چکیده

In this paper, a new D-distance factor is proposed to determine the failure probability and prioritize maintenance actions of power circuit breakers in high-voltage substations. The calculated by using condition index renovation breaker (HVCB). To facilitate effective decision-making on with simple method less computational effort, model incorporates weighting–scoring (WSM) analytical hierarchy process (AHP) various diagnostic methods for assessments as well operation requirements HVCBs assessments. Many significant parameters from testing, such insulation resistance, contact timing, SF6 gas measurements, leakage rate, visual inspection, etc., have been considered determination. addition these, other parameters, age breaker, interrupter mechanism, number fault current interruptions, actual load rated ratio, short interrupting ability, spare parts availability, expertise level, are also validate model, practical test data twenty 115 kV substations distribution utility Thailand were utilized tested. By analyzing requirement output, method, discussed HVCB experts adjust scores weights all criteria obtain most accurate reliable model. results show that technique measured risk matrix, which defined probability, can be used rank schedule urgent normal tasks. addition, probabilities matrix appropriate strategies each group. Finally, could help managers engineers manage planning effectively easily thousands grid, it further applied equipment both transmission systems activities according available costs human resources.

Power system monitoring based on relay and circuit breaker information

In this paper we develop monitoring schemes that are able to detect and identify failures in power transmission lines by analyzing binary status information from relays and circuit breakers. The approach, which is based on Petri net models, requires very simple calculations (linear checks) during execution time and allows for concurrent/incremental processing of the information as it arrives at...

Analysis of Electric Field and Polarization of SF6 Circuit Breaker to Approach a Suitable Structure

Abstract: The application of electric field theory to widely different aspects of electrical insulation has led to more understanding the phenomena. Electric fields may be considered as the main reason for insulation failure. The purpose of this paper is to modify importance of analyzing electric field in insulation design. The SF6 circuit breaker is chosen as case study that encounters cri...

Investigation of Circuit Breaker Dielectric Performance

The violent event of a short-circuit leads to short-term exposure of circuit breaker components to extremely high current, causing thermal degradation, vaporization and deformation of some components and the deposition of surface contaminants. After short-circuit, the leakage current carried by the breaker, when voltage is applied, increases dramatically but must remain below a certain threshol...

Automated Analysis of Circuit Breaker Operation

In this paper a new approach to the analysis of test results for circuit breakers is discussed. It is implemented through new software called Automated Circuit Breaker Monitoring system ACBM. The circuit breaker performance is evaluated based on the analysis of Digital Fault Recorder (DFR) recordings taken from circuit breaker control circuitry. This paper describes the testing procedure and us...
